WHERE Stands for Wayne Hamilton Edwards Radio Enthusiasts. The club formed in July of 2007. We participate in Field Day, as well as some other on air contests during other times of the year. One of our members regularly teaches a Free Technician Licensing Class when there is enough interest to hold one. Other members at different times have taught other classes that were of interest to hams. Two of the favorite times of year for club members is the Spring Potluck and Christmas Dinner. You can usually find us with an information booth at some of the local festivals throughout the summer and fall. Many of our members are very active in Skywarn weather spotting. A few even take it as far as having multiple radios and mobile laptops with NOAA radar in their spotting vehicles! Others report weather condition from the safety of their home. You can listen to Skywarn activities on the Wayne County UHF repeater. All in all this is a fun hobby. And being active is just one way our group enjoys it.
